Ballon d’Or helping me recover fast from injury — Rodri

Man City’s Ballon d'Or Hope Dashed: Rodri’s Season Cut Short with Devastating ACL Injury

Manchester City midfielder Rodri has shared that the desire to win the Ballon d’Or is a driving force in his recovery from injury. Rodri sustained an ACL injury three months ago which has kept him sidelined.

Despite this setback, Rodri played a pivotal role in Man City’s victories in the Premier League and UEFA Super Cup last season.

Additionally, he was instrumental in helping Spain secure the Euro 2024 title. With nine goals and 14 assists in 50 games for Manchester City, he managed to clinch the Ballon d’Or award, beating out Vinicius Junior from Real Madrid.

Looking ahead, Rodri is eager to make a comeback for Manchester City before the end of the season.

“Everything seems to be going well with my rehab. Because of my injury, the award has been like a bottle of oxygen for me.

“I want to come back this season; that would be important for me. I don’t know if I can, but I’d like to be involved for a month or two and finish the season,” he said.
