Britney Spears has informed her admirers that she has relocated to Mexico.
It was initially thought that the renowned artist had traveled to Mexico for a vacation to commemorate her 43rd birthday on Monday; however, the singer subsequently asserted in an Instagram video that she has moved to the country in order to evade the paparazzi.
Her remarks come a few weeks after Britney Spears mentioned to her followers that she was “likely moving (to Mexico) soon” in mid-November.
In a since-deleted Instagram post, the pop icon articulated that she feels like a “completely different person” when away from home and cannot help but “cry every time I leave there.”
“It really kind of hurts my feelings that the paparazzi make my face look like I’m wearing a white Jason mask,” Britney said, referring to the Friday The 13th character.
“It doesn’t even look like me. They’ve always been incredibly cruel to me… the way they’ve illustrated me to be. I know I’m not perfect at all by any means, but some of it is extremely mean and cruel and that’s why I’ve moved to Mexico.”
Earlier on Monday, Britney Spears posted a video showcasing her chocolate and strawberry-covered birthday cake and asserted that she was celebrating her fifth birthday instead of her 43rd.
She bizarrely said, “I’m turning five-years-old and I have to go to kindergarten tomorrow.”
Monday marked a double celebration for the Overprotected hitmaker as she was declared legally single following her divorce from Sam Asghari.
