Nigerian music executive Don Jazzy has discontinued his following of social activist VeryDarkMan on Instagram, subsequent to allegations concerning a significant ₦180 million fraud linked to Verydarkman’s non-governmental organization.
The controversy ignited when VeryDarkMan asserted that an alarming ₦180 million had been misappropriated from the organization’s financial accounts, eliciting considerable attention across social media platforms.
In a post that has gained substantial traction, the activist disclosed that ₦20 million of the embezzled funds had been retrieved, and one individual had been detained.
He additionally affirmed that inquiries into the cyber intrusion are still in progress.
The non-governmental organization, established to tackle challenges within Nigeria’s public education system, has received notable public and celebrity backing, with Don Jazzy prominently contributing ₦100 million to the initiative earlier this year.
Other prominent benefactors have also made significant donations to the NGO, with recent reports indicating that the cumulative contributions have exceeded ₦200 million.
Nevertheless, in light of the fraud accusations, Don Jazzy’s choice to unfollow VeryDarkMan has prompted considerable speculation.
