Former US President Jimmy Carter has passed away at the age of 100 in Plains, Georgia.
The 39th president of the United States and recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize died at his home on Sunday.
He had been in hospice care since February. His wife, Rosalynn Carter, passed away earlier in November at the age of 96.
Carter, a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, served as a state senator, governor of Georgia, and president from 1977 to 1981 after defeating Gerald Ford in the 1976 election.
