Barcelona suffered another defeat in La Liga, as Real Betis held them to a tense 2-2 draw at the Benito Villamarin.
The late equalizer denied Hansi Flick’s team consecutive league victories.
Robert Lewandowski opened the scoring in the 40th minute, finishing off a fantastic team move with a low cross from Jules Kounde.
Barcelona appeared to be in charge in the first half, but they had a difficult challenge after the break.
Betis drew level just before the hour mark when Frenkie de Jong’s foul on Vitor Roque in the box allowed Giovani Lo Celso to convert from the penalty spot.
Barcelona seemed to have sealed the win in the 82nd minute when Ferran Torres latched onto a sublime through ball from Lamine Yamal to score.
Initially ruled offside, the goal was awarded after a VAR review.
However, Real Betis refused to back down. In the fourth minute of stoppage time, Assane Diao capitalized on a defensive lapse to score a dramatic equalizer, leaving Barcelona with more frustration.
This draw marks Barcelona’s fourth slip in their last five La Liga outings.
The dropped points could prove costly, especially with Real Madrid having a chance to narrow the gap at the top of the table to just two points if they beat Girona later this evening.
