President Donald Trump of the United States has indicated that he is willing to consider Elon Musk buying TikTok.
The popular social media platform was recently banned in the US due to national security concerns related to its Chinese ownership.
The ban caused TikTok to go offline temporarily, affecting over 170 million American users.
Trump’s executive order delayed the enforcement of the ban by 75 days, allowing TikTok to continue operating. He also suggested that the US should receive 50% of the proceeds from any potential sale of TikTok in a joint venture deal.
