Rapper Cardi B has officially settled her longstanding defamation lawsuit against YouTuber Tasha K, agreeing to a $1.2 million payment plan over five years.
The settlement, approved on February 24, 2025, brings an end to a legal battle that began in 2019 when Cardi B sued Tasha K for spreading false claims about her, including allegations of drug use and other defamatory statements.
Settlement Terms & Payment Plan
Under the agreement, Tasha K will make monthly payments to Cardi B, structured as follows:
- $176,532 in the first year
- $318,653 in the final year
- Totaling over $1.17 million
Additionally, Tasha K is now legally prohibited from posting any content related to Cardi B across all her platforms, including The Wine Cellar Podcast and Tasha K Live.
Cardi B’s Legal Team Responds
Cardi B’s attorney, Lisa Moore, welcomed the settlement, stating:
“Today marks the end of a multi-year long chapter of lies, deception, and fraudulent conveyance on the part of Tasha K, her husband, and their entities.”
A Long Road to Resolution
This settlement follows Cardi B’s initial $4 million defamation victory in 2022. After the ruling, Tasha K filed for bankruptcy, delaying payment. Legal battles over alleged asset concealment also followed, which have now been resolved through this agreement.
A Warning About Digital Defamation
The case highlights the legal risks of spreading false information online and serves as a reminder of the importance of accountability in digital media.
