Pep Guardiola, manager of Manchester City, and his wife, Cristina Serra, have officially begun divorce proceedings with the assistance of the same legal team.
After announcing their separation earlier this year following three decades of marriage, the couple is working towards a peaceful resolution.
It has been reported that they have already come to an agreement on important financial matters, and the divorce is expected to be finalized in the near future.
Spanish journalist Lorena Vazquez stated: “They want it to be friendly for the sake of their children.
“Money is not an issue, and they have a very good relationship, which is why they are using the same lawyer.”
Speculation suggests that Guardiola’s recent contract extension with Manchester City until 2027 may have played a role in their decision to part ways.
Following their marital troubles, Manchester City has faced a decline in performance, most recently suffering a 2-0 defeat to Liverpool. This loss has put them 20 points behind the league leaders.
Guardiola is now preparing for Manchester City’s upcoming match against Tottenham in London on Wednesday.
