Diddy faces a new lawsuit as a singer accuses him of drugging and assaulting him ten years ago.
The suit was reported by TMZ on Monday, January 3, with the singer using the pseudonym “John Doe” for anonymity.
Doe claims the incident occurred at a Los Angeles club where he was performing and visited Diddy’s section in hopes of securing a contract with Bad Boy. Allegedly, things took a dark turn after he had a drink with Diddy.
According to John Doe, he began feeling disoriented after consuming the drink, experiencing moments of semi-consciousness and blackouts throughout the night.
Although his memory is imperfect, Doe alleges that Diddy touched and assaulted him multiple times, with Doe fighting back only to be threatened by Diddy to keep quiet or risk his career being destroyed.
John Doe is suing Diddy for sexual battery, conspiracy, and intentional infliction of emotional distress. Diddy’s legal team has responded to the allegations.
“Mr. Combs cannot respond to every new publicity stunt,” the statement read. “Even in response to claims that are facially ridiculous or demonstrably false. Combs and his legal team have full confidence in the facts and the integrity of the judicial process.”
The statement concluded that Diddy is not guilty of any of the crimes he’s been accused of. “In court, the truth will prevail: that Mr. Combs never sexually assaulted or trafficked anyone — man or woman, adult or minor.” The mogul’s legal team has issued very similar statements in the past.
