Former President Muhammadu Buhari claimed that under his eight-year tenure, Nigeria experienced significant improvements in both security and the economy.
During a meeting with members of the Katsina State Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigerian Union of Journalists at his residence in Daura, Katsina State, he stated that he inherited economic challenges and security issues from the previous Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) administration, which had been in power for 16 years.
Despite these challenges, the former president insisted that his administration successfully addressed these issues, resulting in a reduction in terrorism and economic hardship.
“Nigeria’s security and economy improved significantly under my administration compared to what we met in 2015. Things will continue to improve in Nigeria,” Buhari said.
Buhari also recognized the complexities of governance, emphasizing that only those in leadership truly understand the difficulties involved.
The Chairman of the Correspondents’ Chapel, Yusuf Ibrahim-Jargaba, commended Buhari for his efforts in combating terrorism, banditry, and other security threats, as well as for his dedication and service to the country.
