Reports suggest that Jose Mourinho was upset by Victor Osimhen’s hush gesture during Fenerbahce’s intense goalless draw against Galatasaray.
The heated Istanbul derby featured flares thrown from the stands and a heavy police presence at the stadium. Mourinho, unhappy with various incidents, was particularly irked when Osimhen fell in the box and called for a penalty that was denied.
In response, the Nigerian striker silenced Mourinho with a gesture, further fueling the conflict between them. The pair have a contentious history, with the manager previously criticizing Osimhen for diving too frequently in Serie A.
After the match, the manager accused Galatasaray’s coaching staff of behaving like “jumping monkeys”, leading to allegations of racism and the possibility of legal action.
The tension between the two teams was already high, as they refused to shake hands before the game and emotions remained heightened throughout the match.
