Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has appealed to residents to pay their land use charge so that his administration can continue providing essential infrastructure across the state.
On Friday at the inauguration of newly rehabilitated roads in Eti Osa Local Government Area, Sanwo-Olu emphasized his government’s commitment to infrastructure development for all residents.
Sanwo-Olu’s Appeal for Public Support
The governor highlighted the importance of civic responsibility, urging Lagosians to support the government by fulfilling their tax obligations.
🗣️ “My appeal is for you to support us. Please pay your land use charge. Do that, and we will do more for you. It is your civic responsibility,” he said.
Sanwo-Olu praised the contractors, PWC, for delivering quality work on the newly completed roads, which include:
✅ Chief Yesufu Abiodun Oniru Road
✅ Akiogun Road (Alternative Route to Admiralty Circle Plaza, Lekki)
✅ Abudu Smith Street
Strategic Road Development Across Lagos
Sanwo-Olu reiterated that these projects aim to ease congestion, reduce travel time, and improve the quality of life for residents.
🚧 “These roads are very strategic… They will reduce travel time, decongest traffic, and improve overall quality of life,” he stated.
The governor also revealed that 15 to 17 more roads are nearing completion, with upcoming inaugurations planned in Badagry and Ibeju-Lekki.
Lagos Set for Green Line Rail Project
In addition to road projects, Sanwo-Olu reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to constructing the Green Line Rail, which will further enhance transportation efficiency in Lagos.
The Special Adviser on Infrastructure, Olufemi Daramola, also noted that the rehabilitated alternative route to Admiralty Circle Toll Plaza in Lekki will significantly ease traffic congestion in the area.
With these ongoing projects, the Lagos State Government remains focused on sustainable urban development, urging citizens to play their part in supporting infrastructure growth.
