Mr Azeez Oshoala, sibling of six-time African Women’s Footballer and Super Falcon’s striker, Asisat Oshoala, has announced his candidacy for the chairmanship of Ikorodu Local Government under the All Progressives Congress in the upcoming local government elections in Lagos State.
In a statement on Saturday, Oshoala, a media entrepreneur, emphasized the importance of youth leadership due to their strength, energy, resourcefulness, and dynamism.
He pledged to introduce innovative programs and initiatives for the benefit of all residents and natives of the local government.
Oshoala, who holds two Masters degrees from international universities and is a member of several professional organizations, is confident in his ability to bring about positive change if elected as chairman.
According to the statement, speaking during the declaration held at his Ikorodu campaign office, the chairmanship aspirant said, “I have consulted my leaders and other stakeholders widely on the need to be supported to emerge as the next Ikorodu Local Government chairman.
“This move is to help harness and unleash all the potential for greatness and transformation of our local government. This is an offer to serve my people, it is therefore not a do-or-die ambition and it is not a raw lust for power or monetary gain,” he said.
