Ruben Amorim, the manager of Manchester United, announced that winger Alejandro Garnacho will be treating his teammates to dinner as a way of apologizing for his reaction to being substituted in their recent 3-2 Premier League victory over Ipswich Town.
Following Patrick Dorgu’s red card just before half-time, Amorim made the decision to substitute Garnacho during the match on Wednesday. The Argentina international immediately walked down the touchline after being replaced by defender Noussair Mazraoui.
Amorim mentioned in his post-match comments that he planned to have a conversation with Garnacho about the incident.
Speaking on the matter at his pre-match press conference ahead of Manchester United’s FA Cup clash with Fulham on Sunday, Amorim said: “He [Garnacho] came to me. It was funny because the next day he came to my office.
“I did some investigations, and he went to the dressing room, he changed his clothes because he was wet.
“But I told them that at Manchester United, everything is important, and perception at a big club is really important, so he is going to pay for a dinner for the whole team, and that is it.”
Garnacho will now hope to start for Manchester United when they face Fulham at Old Trafford this weekend.
