Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho has reportedly told the club he wants to join Premier League rivals Chelsea, as he seeks a permanent move away from Old Trafford.
Garnacho is one of five players placed in the club’s “bomb squad” and was instructed by manager Ruben Amorim in May to find a new team after expressing frustration over starting from the bench in the Europa League final.
Initially valued at £70 million, United have now lowered their asking price to £50 million. According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Garnacho has warned the Red Devils to approve his Chelsea transfer or risk him sitting on the bench for the next six to twelve months.
Since breaking into the first team, the 20-year-old has made 144 appearances for United, scoring 26 goals and registering 22 assists.
