Manchester United fans are preparing to protest against the Glazer family ahead of their match against Arsenal this weekend.
The protest group The 1958 is leading the charge, calling for fans to wear black in a show of mourning for the club’s perceived decline under the Glazers‘ ownership.
In a strongly worded statement, The 1958 compared United’s current situation to the tragic Munich air disaster, pointing to financial mismanagement, growing debt, and high ticket prices as key issues causing unrest among supporters.
United’s financial troubles have only worsened, with debts now totaling £731 million and an additional £300 million owed in transfer fees.
The team’s failure to secure a Champions League spot has also led to a drop in broadcasting revenue, adding to fan frustration.
The protest is scheduled to start at 3 p.m. on Sunday, as fans unite in their opposition to the Glazers’ ownership of the club.
