President Tinubu’s wife wins ‘Woman of The Year’ award

Senator Oluremi Tinubu, the First Lady, was honored at the Independent Awards 2024 as the Best Woman of the Year. She dedicated the award to Nigerian women and youths, praising their tireless efforts towards the nation’s advancement.

The gala night took place in Lagos on Saturday where Tinubu, a former Lagos Central senator, was represented by Fatima Tajudeen, the wife of the Speaker of the House of Representatives.

Tinubu expressed her gratitude for the recognition and described Nigerian women and youths as the unsung heroes of the country, dedicating the award to them for their contributions to the nation’s progress. The Independent Newspaper Awards acknowledge outstanding accomplishments in various sectors, including politics, entertainment, business, and education.

Tinubu extended her thanks to the board of Independent Newspaper for the prestigious honor.

“I receive this prestigious award with deep appreciation,” she said during her acceptance speech.

“This award will inspire me further to contribute my quota to national development,” she added, expressing her gratitude to the event organisers.
