Tyler Perry is already in the works for season 2 of ‘Beauty in Black’ despite Netflix not officially renewing the show yet.
Tyler Perry stated this in a post on Instagram:
‘I’m just gonna sit this right here!! YALL AIN’T READY FOR SEASON 2 of #BeautyInBlack!! Thanks for making season one HUGE!’.
Following the release of Part 2 on March 6, the series has surged up the charts and currently holds the #2 spot on Netflix’s U.S. Top 10 list.
Part 1, which debuted last October, garnered an impressive 1.2 billion minutes watched in its first week and 8.7 million views in its second week, making it the second most-watched original series in the U.S..
Reports have emerged that more episodes have already been filmed, indicating that a renewal may be on the horizon.
Tyler Perry had this to say about upcoming twists in the series, stating:
“I don’t think anybody’s going to be able to figure out where it’s going and how that rise of power happens with Kimmie. It’s going to be mind-blowing for people. Like, ‘Wait a minute, how does she get into power?”
