Antony, the winger for Manchester United, expressed that the club is currently facing challenges under manager Ruben Amorim.
The Brazilian player wished Amorim luck for the season and praised him as a talented and intelligent coach, highlighting their good relationship.
“I have only had a short time working with Amorim, but he’s a very good, intelligent coach,” Antony told ESPN.
“United are going through a difficult time, but he’s a good coach. I had a good relationship with him but I needed new challenge. I wish him best luck in the world.”
Antony made a high-profile move from Ajax to Manchester United for £85 million in 2022 but struggled to make an impact at the club. As a result, he was not given many opportunities by Amorim and was subsequently loaned out to Betis.
Isco, the captain of Real Betis, suggested the team should consider crowdfunding to make Antony’s loan move permanent from Manchester United. He has performed exceptionally well for Betis this season, scoring four goals and providing four assists in 12 matches.
