Police are actively investigating a suspicious package near the White House.
The immediate area has been locked down, and specialized teams are working to determine the nature of the threat.
Authorities are advising the public to steer clear of the area between 15th and 17th streets until further updates.
A bomb squad is currently inspecting a suspicious package found in a nearby dumpster, approximately 500 meters away from the White House where President Donald Trump is currently staying.
The incident occurred shortly after Trump implemented tariffs on multiple countries, including some US allies.
