"Twitter is now in sane hands" - Donald Trump reacts after Elon Musk buys Twitter

President Donald Trump has informed his cabinet and close associates that his billionaire supporter Elon Musk will be stepping back from his government role soon.

Trump had assigned the Tesla and SpaceX CEO to lead efforts to decrease government funding and dismantle various US agencies as a special government employee.

As per Politico, both Trump and Musk have recently agreed that Musk will soon return to his businesses, although no specific date was provided.

Representatives of the White House, Musk-led task force, and Musk himself have not given any comments on this development at the time of reporting.

Trump and Musk have hinted that Musk will be moving on, but the exact timing is yet to be revealed.

Trump, when asked if he wanted Musk to stay longer than his 130-day term, told reporters on Monday: “I think he’s amazing, but I also think he’s got a big company to run. At some point, he’s going to be going back. He wants to.”

CREEBHILLS reports that based on a 130-day term, Musk’s time as a special government employee could end as soon as May.

He told Fox News last week that he was confident he would finish most of the work to cut $1 trillion in federal spending.
