Nigerian singer Crown Uzama, popularly known as Shallipopi, has slammed the Headies Awards after losing the Next Rated category to fellow artist Odumodublvck at the 2025 ceremony held at the Landmark Event Centre in Lagos.
Taking to his official X page on Monday, the “Cast” crooner expressed frustration over the outcome, vowing never to attend the Headies again.
“Mtchewwww, The next one if una see me make I bend,” Shallipopi wrote.
“I nor go even lie for una sef, I nor want that award. Give the real rappers wey dey the category, me Shallipopi I nor be rapper. Make everybody relax jorrrrr, before I cut chain,” he added.
Despite winning Best Rap Single for “Cast” featuring Odumodublvck, Shallipopi made it clear he was dissatisfied, calling for more fairness and proper recognition within award categories.
The 2025 Headies night was filled with high-energy performances and major wins, but Shallipopi’s comments have sparked renewed debate about how Nigeria’s top music awards handle genre distinctions and artist recognition.
