US President Donald Trump has made it clear that he does not believe he requires the guidance of tech billionaire Elon Musk in his administration.
During a Cabinet meeting at the White House on Thursday, Trump reiterated his stance.
He also mentioned that he recently bought a Tesla vehicle in a “symbolic gesture” of support for Musk.
Trump said: “Elon has done a fantastic job. I don’t need Elon [Musk] for anything other than I happen to like him.
“I don’t need his car. I actually bought one, and they said, ‘Oh, did you get a bargain?’ No. I said, ‘Give me the top price.’ I paid a lot of money for that car.”
Elon Musk, present at the meeting, seemed pleased and in agreement with Trump’s statements.
The 53-year-old entrepreneur has been spearheading budget reduction initiatives within the White House DOGE office under the current administration.
