NANS President Atiku Abubakar Isah Apologizes to Seyi Tinubu Over False ₦100M Bribery Claim

Atiku Abubakar Isah, a factional president of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), has publicly apologized to Seyi Tinubu, the son of President Bola Tinubu, over false allegations made in a viral video.

Isah had previously claimed that Seyi Tinubu and Minister of Youth and Sports Development Ayodele Olawande invited him to Lagos and offered him ₦100 million to support President Tinubu—an offer he alleged to have refused, which he said led to his abduction on April 15, 2025.

However, in a statement posted on Facebook on Wednesday, Isah retracted his claims and admitted the story was fabricated, attributing the misinformation to a fellow student leader, Ladoja Olusola, who he says manipulated him in a bid to seize control of NANS.

“It has become imperative to note that the offer of ₦100,000,000… was clearly untrue,” Isah wrote.

“Ladoja Olusola, who was desperate to get me out of my legitimate position as the duly elected President of NANS, fed me lies and half-truths for the sole purpose of achieving his selfish agenda.”

Isah further alleged that Olusola told him Seyi Tinubu might order his assassination, and falsely claimed the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, would cover it up.

Additionally, Isah withdrew earlier statements that Seyi Tinubu had led thugs to disrupt his inauguration ceremony, clarifying that Seyi was never present at the event.

The apology marks a significant twist in the leadership tussle within NANS, shedding light on internal political maneuvering and the use of disinformation for personal gain.
