Sir Jim Ratcliffe, co-owner of Manchester United, has outlined to manager Ruben Amorim the team’s target for the upcoming season after a disappointing loss to West Ham dropped them to 16th in the Premier League table.
Despite Amorim suggesting he may step down if results don’t improve, the owners have set a goal of finishing in the top-six for the 2025/26 season.
“I have that feeling, we need to change that and we need to be really strong in the summer and be brave because we will not have the next season like this,” Amorim said at his post-match interview.
“If we start like this, or if the feeling is still here, we should give the space to different persons.”
This means United will need to compete against other big clubs like Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City, Chelsea, Aston Villa, Nottingham Forest, and Newcastle United.
