Popular comedian and filmmaker Bright Okpocha, widely known as Basketmouth, has extended his congratulations to Abia State Governor Alex Otti as he marked his second anniversary in office.
The milestone, celebrated on Thursday, featured a lineup of events showcasing the administration’s achievements over the past two years.
The festivities drew an array of dignitaries, political allies, entertainers, and supporters. Nigerian music star Flavour delivered a vibrant performance during the celebration.
A highlight of the event was a landmark lecture during which Governor Otti shared his vision for continued transformation in Abia.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to building a “New Abia” and expressed appreciation to the people of the state for their support.
Taking to X on Friday, Basketmouth, an Abia native, posted a photo featuring himself alongside Governor Otti, First Lady Priscilla Otti, Flavour, and others. He wrote:
“Honoured to join my fellow indigenes of Abia State in celebrating the second anniversary of a new Abia. Surely the next 6 years will witness continued excellence. Congratulations to you @alexottiofr and your amiable wife.”
Earlier in May, Basketmouth and media personality Victoria Eze visited Governor Otti, fueling speculation about a potential collaboration focused on youth empowerment and cultural development in the state.
The comedian has been a vocal supporter of Otti’s administration. In February 2024, he lauded the governor’s efforts, sharply contrasting them with previous administrations.
“I wonder how ALL former Governors of Abia state are feeling now seeing Dr Otti’s current performance,” he remarked. “It’s suggesting that the former Governors were not even LGA chairman level.”
