A new Pope has been elected by the Catholic church, as white smoke was seen coming from the chimney above the Sistine Chapel in Vatican City.
The new Pope will be replacing the late Francis, who passed away last month at the age of 88. The identity of the new pontiff has not been revealed yet.
The white smoke emerged from the chimney during the Conclave on Thursday afternoon, indicating that a candidate had secured the required two-thirds majority for election.
