Cassie has opened up about a deeply painful period in her life, revealing that she once attempted to walk into traffic while dealing with PTSD stemming from her past relationship with Sean “Diddy” Combs.
The singer described the severe emotional and mental impact it had on her.
“I was spinning out,” she said tearfully during her second day of testimony in Diddy’s sex trafficking trial on Wednesday. “I didn’t want to be alive anymore at that point.”
Cassie, whose full name is Casandra Ventura, recounted reaching her lowest point in 2023 while filming a music video. She said she was overwhelmed by traumatic flashbacks tied to the alleged abuse she suffered during her time with Combs.
Upon returning home from the video shoot, she told her husband, Alex Fine, “You can do this without me. You don’t need me anymore.”
She then attempted to walk out into traffic, but Fine intervened and stopped her.
After the incident, Cassie sought help through rehab and trauma therapy. As part of her healing process, she began writing a book detailing her experiences with Combs.
She testified that she even shared portions of the manuscript with him.
“I really wanted Sean to read the information,” she said in court.
Cassie and Alex Fine, who married in 2019, are parents to two daughters—Frankie, five, and Sunny, four—and are currently expecting their third child.
