EFCC Remands Verydarkman Over Alleged Cybercrime Offences Pending Investigation

Controversial Nigerian social media commentator Verydarkman (VDM) has been remanded in EFCC custody following a court order secured by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, pending the outcome of investigations into alleged violations of Nigeria’s Cybercrimes Act.

According to The Guardian Nigeria, the arrest—which involved a joint operation with DSS and the Nigeria Police Force—took place last Friday in Wuse, Abuja, shortly after VDM exited a bank.

“The remand order was granted to enable a thorough investigation before arraignment,” an EFCC official disclosed.

VDM’s legal counsel, Deji Adeyanju, confirmed efforts are underway to gain access to his client and consider legal remedies.
