John Legend has explained why he has rejected offers to star in a reality show.
The 46-year-old Grammy Award-winning singer has been asked to appear in a reality show alongside his wife, model Chrissy Teigen, 39, about their lives.
John Legend told The Sun, “We’ve been approached. You know, she’s very entertaining and I’m like her straight man. Every comic needs a straight man.”
John Legend went on to explain that he and Teigen feel they already share a lot with fans online, and also would not want to be forced into creating ‘drama’ for ratings.
He said, “I feel like we share plenty on social media and we like being in control of what we share. So anything we would do on the unscripted side, it would have to be with us having control over what we share.
“Shows are built around people arguing with each other. We’re just not interested in that version.”
The All Of Me singer, who shares four children with his wife, who he has been married to since 2013, is instead focusing on music.
He said, “The way I’m approaching the next album is, how do I make that one the best one I’ve ever done?
“How do I collaborate with people who are going to make me better and bring out something special in me? That’s what I’m going to focus on and the awards will take care of themselves.”
