Popular Nollywood actress and producer Biola Bayo has announced her separation from her husband. The actress made the revelation in a heartfelt Instagram post while celebrating her ex-husband’s birthday.
In her message, Biola referred to him as her “ex-husband and baby daddy”, revealing that they have been separated since April 2024, but have chosen to co-parent their son peacefully.
“Happy birthday to my ex-husband and my baby daddy,” she wrote.
“I pray that grace will abound unto you, I pray you find peace in all your ways. May God continue to light your path and bless you beyond your expectations in Jesus’ name.”
“We’ve Been Separated Since April Last Year”
In her emotional note, Biola Bayo opened up about the personal pain she has endured in private, even as she publicly spreads joy through her work.
“Yes, you heard me right! My husband and I have been separated since April last year, but we have decided to maturely and peacefully co-parent our dear son who means everything to us.”
“While I go about making other people happy in the day, my pillow is drenched with my own tears almost every night for the past 14 months. But I gain strength from Christ who loves me eternally and gave Himself for me.”
Appeals for Privacy and Kindness
Biola extended an apology to her fans who may feel disappointed by the news and requested that they keep her family in their prayers. She also used the opportunity to remind people to be kind, as many are battling silent struggles.
“Please keep us in your prayers. Let’s learn to be kind to people—you have no idea what others are going through until they say it.”
She ended the post with a message of hope:
