After a seven-year wait, Cardi B has officially announced the release date for her highly anticipated second studio album titled Am I the Drama?. The album is set to drop on September 19, 2025, marking a significant return for the Grammy-winning rapper since her explosive 2018 debut Invasion of Privacy.
According to a press release, the project will showcase a bold evolution in Cardi’s sound and storytelling, building on the record-breaking success of her first album.
Cardi B confirmed the release on Instagram, where she also unveiled the album’s striking cover art. In the image, she stuns in a dramatic red dress with a sculptural neckline, flanked by two ominous black crows in flight.
Excited reactions flooded the comments section, with celebrities like Shakira and Taraji P. Henson cheering on the announcement.
“Counting the days!!!” Shakira wrote, while Taraji exclaimed, “LET’S F**KIN GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLOOOOOOOO (sic).”
Am I the Drama? will include several previously released hits like WAP featuring Megan Thee Stallion, Up, and her latest single Outside.
Just days before the announcement, Cardi teased fans with a cryptic video on Instagram, posing in a black crow-covered gown while narrating:
“Seven years and the time has come. Seven years of love, life, and loss. Seven years I gave them grace, but now, I give them hell… I’m shedding feathers and no more tears. I’m not back, I’m beyond. I’m not your villain, I’m your karma. The time is here. The time is now.”
Fans can now pre-order limited-edition Am I the Drama? merchandise, including vinyl and CD versions, from Cardi B’s official website.
