Tensions flared this week after T-Pain revisited past advice he received from Drake — and boldly called out the Canadian superstar for not practicing what he once preached.
In a recent interview, the Buy U a Drank hitmaker recalled a moment when Drake shared a gem about leaving the spotlight with grace. According to T-Pain, Drake once said he wanted to “gracefully bow out” of music before being forced out — a sentiment T-Pain claimed to have embraced himself.
But he didn’t stop there.
T-Pain took it a step further, shading Drake for contradicting that very philosophy:
“Drake said, ‘I want to be one of those people that gracefully bows out and not get kicked out.’ And I took that advice. But now he’s doing the exact opposite. He’s like, ‘Y’all didn’t like that one? Okay, let me try one more…’ He’s become the person he said he didn’t want to be.”

Drake didn’t take the comments lightly. Sliding into the comment section, the For All The Dogs rapper fired back with a sharp retort:
“This guy always had resentment for me 😂 You can hear it every time he speaks on my name.”
The jab took many by surprise, especially given the long-standing mutual respect between the two. Both artists came up during the Lil Wayne/YMCMB era and have praised each other’s influence on modern hip-hop and R&B.
While it’s unclear whether the spat will escalate, fans are already speculating about whether this marks the beginning of a larger rift between the two autotune icons.
