Halle Bailey reacts to DDG’s disclosure of alleged self harm history amid custody battle (Video)

Halle Bailey has spoken out for the first time amidst her ongoing custody battle with DDG over their 1-year-old son, Halo. She is reportedly refuting DDG’s accusations that her past threats of self-harm jeopardized their son’s safety. Sources claim that Halle informed the judge during court proceedings that DDG is overblowing her past mental health issues, which have since been addressed.

Halle Bailey was granted a temporary restraining order and full custody of baby Halo ahead of her court hearing with DDG, which was originally scheduled for June 4.

However, the hearing was postponed as DDG filed a competing custody case, citing Halle’s alleged history of threatening self-harm.

In response to these claims, Halle Bailey has stated that her ex-boyfriend’s account in court was exaggerated, filled with lies, and misconstrued their relationship history, parenting abilities, and her mental health. She reassured the court that she is capable of caring for Halo as his mother.

“I have been very vocal about my anxiety, depression, and previous thoughts of suicide. Without waiving the psychotherapist-patient privilege and physician-patient privilege, I have reached out to my doctor and received treatment to address these issues. I have been and remain 100% available and capable as a parent to our son, Halo,” Bailey wrote in her declaration per Billboard.

Halle Bailey also mentioned that most of the mental health incidents DDG brought up occurred in 2022 and 2023, adding that his behavior during that time had a severe emotional impact on her. She highlighted that he never questioned her parenting skills.

“Had Darryl really been concerned about my parenting, he would have taken action prior to this time. This is cold retribution to embarrass, humiliate and caused me additional emotional distress,” Bailey added.
