Former Argentina and Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero has thrown shade at Cristiano Ronaldo, teasing the Al Nassr star after his club failed to qualify for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.
Aguero remarked on a guest appearance on IShowSpeed’s livestream, where the popular content creator, known for his admiration of Ronaldo, expressed his desire to meet Lionel Messi.
“You’re a very big fan of Cristiano, no?” Aguero asked Speed, before cheekily adding, “Ronaldo is playing here now at the Club World Cup or no? Maybe he’ll have to watch on TV.”
Aguero’s jab referred to Al Nassr’s failure to secure qualification for the upcoming tournament, a fact that has sparked online debates between Messi and Ronaldo fans.
Meanwhile, Messi’s Inter Miami is set to feature in the global competition, further intensifying the rivalry narrative between the two football icons.
