Renowned chess master and founder of Chess in Slums Africa, Tunde Onakoya, has revealed his ambition to become a man of both affluence and influence.
Speaking in a recent interview, Tunde Onakoya explained that while he is passionate about his philanthropic work and contributions as a chess coach, he does not want to be defined by charity alone.
“I don’t just want to be known for charity or as a chess coach,” he said.
Tunde Onakoya went on to express his desire for greater economic and social power: “I also want to be a billionaire with power.”
Onakoya has gained international acclaim for using chess to empower children in underserved communities, but he now aims to expand his impact through wealth and leadership.
His words …
“I want to be a billionaire. And I mean that. I’ve always been afraid to say that. I just don’t want to be known as just the chess in slums guy. The charity guy. I want to make a lot of money. And I also want to have a lot of power. And with that power comes new responsibility. And my responsibility and duty will always be to the children.”
