Popular skit maker and activist Mr. Macaroni has heaped praise on Nigerian chess master Tunde Onakoya for his life-changing work with Chess in Slums Africa, describing the initiative as “tremendously inspiring.”
In a heartfelt post shared on social media, Mr. Macaroni commended Onakoya’s dedication to empowering underprivileged children through chess, noting that such transformative efforts are crucial in the collective pursuit of a better Nigeria.
“The work Tunde Onakoya is doing is not just commendable, it is tremendously inspiring!!! At the end of the day, what we all want is a better country that we all can be proud of—and there are different ways to achieve that. We all must play our part,” Mr. Macaroni wrote.
His comments came shortly after Onakoya’s visit to President Bola Tinubu, where the chess champion presented his Guinness World Record certificate for the longest chess marathon, alongside a custom-made gold-plated Adire chess set.
