Former Kaduna State Governor and ex-FCT Minister, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, has publicly celebrated his first wife, Hadiza Isma El-Rufai, on her birthday, showering her with heartfelt praises and gratitude for nearly 40 years of marriage.
Taking to his verified X (formerly Twitter) handle on Saturday, June 21, El-Rufai described Hadiza as a “bundle of brains, beauty, and brawn” who has been an enduring source of support throughout his personal and political life.
“Please join me and members of the El-Rufai family to wish my best friend, university classmate, teenage sweetheart, and dearest wife, Hadiza Isma El-Rufai, a very happy birthday. We pray for Almighty God to continue to bless her with good health, long life, and happiness.”
Highlighting her academic and personal achievements, El-Rufai noted that Hadiza holds three master’s degrees — in Architecture, Business Administration, and Creative Writing — is fluent in French, and is a published novelist.
“My life began to have meaning when we married nearly 40 years ago. She is a taskmaster and disciplined organizer of our home and our lives,” he wrote.
He also celebrated her as the proud mother of Hon. Bello El-Rufai and grandmother to their three grandchildren.
