Popular Nigerian actress Rahama Sadau is mourning the loss of her father, Alhaji Ibrahim Sadau, who passed away on Sunday.
The sad news was first announced by Kannywood veteran actor and Nigerian Film Corporation (NFC) Chairman, Ali Nuhu, via Instagram. Sharing a heartfelt tribute and a photo of the late Ibrahim Sadau and Rahama, Ali wrote:
“Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi raji’un. Allah has called Alhaji Ibrahim Sadau, the father of @rahamasadau, to rest. May Allah forgive him and have mercy on him, and may death be a relief for him. May Allah grant his family and loved ones patience and strength to bear the loss. Ameen.”
Rahama Sadau also confirmed the heartbreaking news on her Instagram page with the Islamic phrase, “Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi raji’un,” meaning “from Allah we came and to Him we shall return.” In Hausa, she added: “ALLAH YAYI WA MAHAIFINA RASUWA…,” translating to “My father is dead.”
Fans, colleagues, and celebrities flooded her social media with messages of condolence and prayers for the deceased’s soul.
Rahama Sadau, 31, is a celebrated figure in both Nollywood and Kannywood, known for her roles in numerous English and Hausa-language films. Born and raised in Kaduna, she remains one of Northern Nigeria’s most influential actresses.
