Controversial singer Portable has reportedly asked social media influencer Lege Miami for ₦50 million to support President Bola Tinubu’s re-election campaign in 2027.
The demand surfaced after a widely circulated video showed Lege Miami enthusiastically endorsing Tinubu on camera, claiming he did so without any payment.
In a separate clip, however, Portable is heard in a phone conversation with Lege Miami negotiating his own fee for promotional activities.
According to the audio excerpt, Portable tells Lege Miami that he requires ₦50 million to “push” Tinubu’s campaign, arguing that his influence and reach justify the cost. Though Lege Miami had insisted earlier that he volunteered his support free of charge, the renegotiation clip suggests a different arrangement may have been in the works.
Political observers note that the incident highlights the increasing influence—and associated costs—of celebrity endorsements in Nigerian electoral politics.
Both Portable and Lege Miami have yet to address the authenticity or context of the negotiation audio publicly. As the 2027 election cycle approaches, the episode raises fresh questions about campaign financing and the ethics of paid endorsements in the country’s democracy.
