Sabrina Carpenter Slams Double Standards in Bold Rolling Stone Cover Shoot

Sabrina Carpenter is baring it all — body and mind — in her latest feature for Rolling Stone, using both her words and visuals to challenge the double standards faced by women in the entertainment industry.

The 25-year-old ‘Espresso’ hitmaker posed confidently in a daring photoshoot for the magazine’s cover story, proving she’s unafraid to embrace her sexuality while speaking candidly about the scrutiny female artists endure.

“We’re in such a weird time where you would think it’s girl power, and women supporting women, but in reality, the second you see a picture of someone wearing a dress on a carpet, people rush to say everything mean in the first 30 seconds,” Carpenter told the publication.

Known for her playful lyrics and sultry stage presence, Sabrina didn’t hold back in addressing how female performers are constantly judged, not only for their music but for their looks, clothes, and confidence.

“I truly feel like I’ve never lived in a time where women have been picked apart more, and scrutinized in every capacity,” she continued. “I’m not just talking about me. I’m talking about every female artist that is making art right now.”

As for criticism over her sexy performances? Carpenter says the backlash reveals more about her critics than about her. “Keep talking,” she challenges — the commentary only highlights society’s obsession with controlling how women present themselves.

Beyond addressing industry sexism, Sabrina opened up about her evolving approach to music. Speaking on her new album cycle and the release of her track ‘Manchild’, she admitted she’s done with industry-imposed timelines.

“There’s no rules,” she declared. “Why would I wait three years just for the sake of waiting three years? It’s all about what feels right.”

Reflecting on her earlier projects, she quipped, “If you ever listen to my old albums… which, don’t…What I was really trying to do is what I’m doing right now, and what I think I accomplished with ‘Short n’ Sweet.’

The interview — raw, confident, and unfiltered — shows Carpenter at her most authentic yet, boldly embracing both her artistry and her womanhood in a culture that’s still catching up.
