Simon Guobadia, estranged husband of Real Housewives of Atlanta star Porsha Williams, has reportedly been deported to Nigeria after spending several months in U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) custody.
The 61-year-old businessman, who immigration officials arrested in February 2024, had been held at the Stewart Detention Center in Georgia until his recent removal from the United States.
A close associate confirmed the deportation, adding that Simon remains positive and is even seeking a potential meeting with former U.S. President Donald Trump.
Guobadia is no longer listed in the Department of Homeland Security’s detainee database, marking the official conclusion of his time in U.S. custody. Upon his return to Nigeria, he wasted no time launching a T-shirt line aimed at raising awareness about immigration issues and offering support to others affected by deportation.
Simon, who first entered the U.S. in 1982, reportedly overstayed his visa on two occasions, which rendered him ineligible for American citizenship. His immigration troubles have only complicated his high-profile divorce from Porsha Williams, who filed to end their marriage after just 15 months earlier this year.
With Simon back in Nigeria, the divorce proceedings—which had been delayed due to his detention—are expected to resume, largely via virtual court sessions.
Despite these legal and personal setbacks, sources claim that Simon remains “optimistic” about the future and is focused on his new business venture as well as clearing his name.
