Nollywood actress Sonia Ogiri has claimed she received a divine message warning Simon Guobadia about his marriage to Real Housewives of Atlanta star Porsha Williams, which ended in divorce earlier this month.
In a post shared on her verified Instagram account on Thursday, Sonia disclosed that she privately messaged Simon on April 1, 2024, after feeling led by God to do so.
Alongside a screenshot of her brief message to him, she expressed sorrow over how the marriage unfolded, stressing that her warning came well before any public trouble in the relationship.
“GOD chooses who he wants to use. I feel so sad for this man Simon, not because I know the whole truth but because I had a message for him and Obi Cubana’s wife. I personally sent both of them messages with my verified account… This was long before his marriage which GOD was clearly warning him,” Sonia wrote.
In the screenshot, Sonia’s message to Simon simply read:
“I’m just a normal lady that hears GOD sometimes. If you will listen to me. Have a great day.”
She emphasized that the post was not made to prompt a response from Simon but to encourage others to take spiritual revelations more seriously:
“May GOD help us all. Me posting this isn’t for him to respond anymore, cause the deed has been done. I just want other people to learn from this.”
Her comments follow the finalized divorce between Simon and Porsha, who were married for just 15 months after hosting lavish weddings in both Nigeria and the U.S. Porsha filed for divorce in February 2024, citing an “ongoing matter” unrelated to infidelity.
As part of the divorce settlement finalized on June 11, Simon is to pay $40,000 monthly in alimony, cover Porsha’s legal fees, continue financing their $7 million Atlanta mansion, and transfer ownership of a Rolls-Royce he gifted her.
Simon has since publicly expressed regret, telling Page Six:
“I absolutely regret marrying Porsha. I was targeted for financial reasons, and I plan to appeal the judgment.”
Interestingly, Sonia also mentioned that she sent a spiritual message to Ebele Iyiegbu, wife of Nigerian businessman Obi Cubana, although she didn’t disclose the content of that message. She left it to interpretation, saying:
“Obi’s wife message is still in her inbox. If she like, make she take am serious. If she likes, she should [not].”
The actress maintained her post was not for attention but a sincere call to others to heed divine warnings.
“We joke about everything even when we should give a listening ear,” she wrote. “It’s not about clout. I stand for something greater.”
