President Tinubu Condemns Konduga Suicide Bombing

Tinubu Flags Off Construction of New INEC Annex Headquarters in Abuja

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has strongly condemned the suicide bombing in Konduga, Borno State, labelling the attack as a “cowardly act” by remnants of the Boko Haram insurgent group.

In a statement released on Sunday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President expressed deep anguish over the incident and mourned the lives lost in the tragic blast.

“President Tinubu has expressed anguish over the suicide bombing in Konduga, Borno State, at the weekend. The President mourned those who lost their lives, describing the attack as cowardly,” the statement read.

President Tinubu called on Nigeria’s security agencies to intensify their operations to eliminate the remaining elements of Boko Haram, warning that the insurgents have now turned to attacking soft civilian targets as part of a diversionary strategy.

“He urged security agencies to double their efforts in routing remnants of the Boko Haram insurgents who resort to attacks on soft targets as a diversionary tactic,” the presidency added.

The President extended heartfelt condolences to the government and people of Borno State and directed the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to provide full support to survivors of the attack.
