Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, and suspended Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, may have finally resolved their months-long political rift following a meeting with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Thursday night.
According to reports, the meeting took place at the Presidential Villa and also had in attendance the Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Martins Amaewhule, and several other lawmakers.
Channels Television confirmed the high-profile meeting, though specific details remain unclear at the time of this report.
Earlier on Thursday, Governor Fubara had also met privately with Speaker Amaewhule in Abuja, fueling speculation of a reconciliatory move between the factions.
The latest development suggests a breakthrough in the Rivers political crisis that had led to a declared state of emergency in the state and the suspension of Fubara and other elected officials by President Tinubu.
While neither party has issued an official statement, the meeting is widely seen as a strong signal that tensions may finally be easing between Wike and Fubara after months of public clashes and political turbulence.
