Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye has revealed that while he is fully aware of the attention he receives from women, he remains focused on his football career.
The 24-year-old, who plays for Serie A club Udinese in Italy, has become a viral sensation not only for his goalkeeping skills but also for his striking looks. In an interview on the AySuga YouTube channel, Okoye admitted that female admiration has always been a part of his life.
“It has always been part of me because women are always crazy about me,” he said with a smile, adding that he doesn’t let the attention distract him. “All the fine boy nonsense… Yeah, I am a fine boy, but it’s not that I’m focusing on it. I was born like that.”
Despite the growing interest in his personal life, Okoye insisted that football remains his top priority.
“You cannot combine sport with too much women,” he said. “I don’t want to talk too much about me online. I don’t have to deal with it.”
Currently the Super Eagles’ second-choice goalkeeper, Okoye also recently declared his readiness to fight for the number one spot in Nigeria’s national team — a position currently held by Stanley Nwabali.
