Nollywood actor and filmmaker Yomi Fabiyi has claimed he began travelling abroad long before his industry colleagues, Funke Akindele and Iyabo Ojo.
Speaking during a recent live video, Fabiyi revisited the controversy surrounding the Baba Ijesha case, alleging that Iyabo Ojo had once vowed to prevent him from leaving the country.
He stated that the threat did not materialise, as he had already been married to a British woman for 10 years and had been travelling internationally for over two decades.
“During Baba Ijesha’s saga, Iyabo Ojo said she would stop me from travelling,” Fabiyi said. “I was married to a British woman for 10 years. I have been travelling out of Nigeria for 20 years now. Neither Iyabo nor Funke Akindele travelled out before me.”
Fabiyi also revealed that some people advised him to sue Iyabo Ojo over the incident but he chose not to pursue legal action.
“People told me to sue her, but I decided not to,” he added. “It is only God who can recover all Baba Ijesha has lost. Till today, the court didn’t establish it that Baba Ijesha slept with any child.”
“Iyabo Ojo said she’ll stop me from travelling, I was married to a British woman for 10 years, I started traveling abroad before Iyabo Ojo and Funke Akindele herself. Both Police investigation and Court didn’t establish the fact that baba ijesha slept with any child” – Yomi… pic.twitter.com/gXsm0HMS38
