Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, ex-Senate President David Mark, and several other influential political figures are currently in a closed-door meeting as part of consultations ahead of the formal unveiling of a new political platform for the opposition coalition.
Also in attendance are former Jigawa State Governor Sule Lamido, former PDP National Chairman Prince Uche Secondus, and ex-Governors Aminu Tambuwal (Sokoto), Liyel Imoke (Cross River), Babangida Aliyu (Niger), and Sam Egwu (Ebonyi).
Sources say the meeting, reportedly chaired by David Mark, is centred on a critical decision facing top PDP leaders: whether to remain within the People’s Democratic Party or fully commit to the proposed opposition coalition set to challenge the ruling party in the 2027 elections.
