Azealia Banks has once again stirred the pot in the ongoing tension between Nicki Minaj and SZA, making it clear whose corner she’s in — and it’s definitely not SZA’s.
The controversial rapper and outspoken personality, who has had a rollercoaster relationship with Minaj over the years, publicly praised the Pink Friday rapper after Minaj took shots at SZA’s looks, voice, and musical accomplishments earlier this month.
“Nicki is just so iconic,” Banks wrote in response to the online clash. “The whole shade was epic; five stars.”

Her support didn’t stop there. Azealia later doubled down in a follow-up post on X (formerly Twitter), where she commented on the viral success of the TikTok “High School Challenge”, based on Minaj’s 2013 hit High School. She expressed nostalgia for Nicki’s R&B style and took a jab at SZA’s vocal abilities.
“This High School challenge really has me missing Nicki’s R&B vibes. In hindsight, she’s not any worse of a singer than many of the R&B singers out [today]. Nicki is actually a better singer than SZA when you really examine it,” Banks posted to her 267,500 followers.
Surprisingly, after the sharp commentary, Banks softened her tone — suggesting that both stars should put their differences aside and work together.
“I really hope she and SZA collaborate though. All jokes aside, I know that record would be so tough,” she added.
As of now, neither Nicki Minaj nor SZA has responded to Banks’ remarks or her suggestion for a joint track.
The chances of a collaboration remain slim, especially after SZA recently admitted to intentionally ignoring Nicki’s previous requests to work together.
Still, fans are watching closely to see if this unexpected endorsement from Azealia Banks might open the door — or simply fan the flames — of an already fiery feud.
