Popular Nigerian preacher, Pastor Dolapo Lawal, has sparked conversations on social media with her bold advice to those considering marriage: full transparency or nothing.
Speaking in a recent sermon, Pastor Dolapo urged singles not to settle for secrecy in their relationships, especially when it comes to access to digital devices and accounts.
His statement reads:
“Before you agree to marry anybody, ask the person, ‘Can I know your password to everything you have?’ If the person says no, leave him or her.”
The statement has gone viral, with many agreeing and others debating the practicality of such advice.
According to Pastor Dolapo Lawal, a refusal to share passwords could be a sign of hidden motives, lack of trust, or unwillingness to be fully accountable in marriage.
He emphasized that transparency and openness should be foundational pillars of any serious relationship heading toward marriage, especially in an age where much of life is lived digitally.
